Bangladesh telecom industry has made a tremendous growth in the past decade and is poised for significant achievements in the next decade. It is the 10th largest market worldwide in terms of unique mobile subscribers. By 2014, the subscribers’ number has become almost 120 million. The strong growth in telecom has been helped enormously by the deregulation of the country’s telecom sector along with the introduction of the 3G technology. The number of mobile phone users in Bangladesh has grown rapidly; in 2003 subscriber penetration was only 1%, and in ten years this grew to 40%. The sector has 6 mobile phone operators and it is rapidly progressing towards growth.
